Biddy Basketball (Pre-K/K)

A welcoming first step onto the court for Newtown’s youngest basketball players.

A positive introduction to basketball

Biddy introduces pre-kindergarten and kindergarten children to basketball through age-appropriate instruction. The focus is on learning, enjoying the game and becoming comfortable participating with a group.

What players work on

• Getting comfortable handling a basketball.
• Exploring the basics of dribbling, passing and shooting.
• Listening, taking turns and working with others.
• Building confidence through effort and encouragement.

A place to begin

Children do not need to arrive with basketball experience. Families should choose the registration offering that matches their child’s grade and review its eligibility details before enrolling.

Supporting your player

Encourage effort and participation, give children room to learn, and let the instructors guide the activities. Follow program instructions for arrival, supervision and pickup.

Our shared expectations

NYBA’s purpose is to provide a safe, well-supervised and positive environment. Coaches and volunteers must complete the required approval and screening process. Families and guests are expected to follow the Code of Conduct and facility rules.
